Premier League champions Manchester City will face rivals Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, August 5, in a Community Shield match which is regarded as the curtain-raiser before the start of the new season.
The Community Shield match is always played between the reigning Premier League champions and last season's winners of the English FA Cup.
Last season, Manchester City won the Premier League title in Pep Guardiola's second term in charge of the Citizens, while Chelsea under ex manager Antonio Conte won the FA Cup title.
This game will mark the 160th meeting between the two sides and Chelsea have a slightly superior record over the Manchester club winning 66 of their meetings with City coming out on top in 54 of those.
